  • Tutkamaston jalka: 89.5 + 1.24 = 90.74 metriä (joku aiempi tieto oli 90.94+-0.15 metriä)

  • Monumentin ylätasanne: 89.5 + 10.6 = 100.1 metriä


Measured point coordinates

The coordinate system has been rotated so that Pernaja broadcast tower is visible at the azimuth of 246.3300 ± 0.0040 gon. Coordinate center is Bolt1, and both lateral coordinates have bias of 500.000 meters. Relative elevation has bias of 50.000 meters.

The number of decimals tries to convey some idea about precission, or presumed confidence..

On Sunday, 21.4.2002 a separate tree of measurements was done at the adjacent URSA real-estate, and there side N2-N3 got radically different distance from NLS register data. There were no known common measurements in between western area coordinates, and the URSA real-estate, thus they are not combinable (yet)

2002-05-11: That 21.4.2002 measured dataset is seriously in error :-(

The first attempt at plotting measured altitudes into contour map. It goes radically wrong..

In the 2D picture the real-estate boundary lines with corners 1/2/3 are approximative. They have not been measured at this point, nor anything else in the east side of the Monument.

There must be altitude data at least every 3-4 meters for it to make any usefull sense with used software.


2002-05-11:

Lots of measurements produce better maps (circa 270 points over two days of the weekend):  2002-05-12 map.

2002-06-15:

Measurement system has been improved, and now the theodolite communicated the results straight into a data logging computer, and various transcript errors didn't play havoc anymore. All in all, 230 measurements in 8 hours, of which active were about 5.
